2026 Seedling Sale

Rosella is a mahogany/red cherry tomato that was voted “Best tasting cherry” at the Heirloom Food Festival in Santa Rosa.

This tomato is an unusual glossy black and red, and while beautiful, we think it has no flavor worth growing. Still, some people like it just for color, so we grow a few for sale each year.

A wonderful little yellow cherry tomato with great flavor. Named “egg yolk” because someone thought it looked like a yellow egg yolk.

From Germany, translated as “Little Blonde Girl”, this cherry tomato bears fruit in clusters, and will bury you in fruit.

From Mexico, this small cherry tomato is ivory yellow with a wonderful flavor.

We have no idea how this tomato acquired its name. It is a small plant that can be easily grown in pots. It rarely gets higher than 3 feet, but produces lots of great tasting black and red fruit. It is ripe when the bottom is red.

A red/yellow/orange variety. It has a “cats eye” on the bottom, giving it the name “Isis.”

The Sungold cherry tomato is the only hybrid we grow. For that reason, we can’t save seeds and we purchase seedlings from a wholesale nursery. They arrived really late this year and might be too small to be ready to go out. So we aren’t going to post them on this website for sale. We would rather that customers see them when they come out to pickup their other tomato seedlings. If they look fine, you are welcome to purchase them at that time. Luckily, Sungold cherry tomatoes are widely available at just about every other local nursery and should be easy to find.

Found in Hawaii, this tomato produces tiny fruit about the size of peas, but is consistently named the best tasting cherry tomato on our farm by our chef customers. It produces an abundance of fruit, albeit very small.

Bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, this tomato is a large cherry-type, elongated, and multi-colored.

This is a large cherry-type tomato, with lightly striped orange fruit. Great flavor, firm texture, almost chewy.

A “black” salad tomato from Russia. A cool season variety with great flavor.

The St. Ivy tomato is a large red beefsteak with a slightly orangish/red tint. It handles hot weather well and we have grown it for many years on our farm.

We trialed the Sainte Lucie on our farm in 2025 and loved it. It is a huge red tomato from France. It is supposed to have good disease resistance. We thought it might be a late variety, and didn’t produce until later in the summer, but still, we thought it was worth growing.

The Shirvey is a very rare tomato. As far as we know, we are the only farm in the US to grow it. It is our primary tomato for restaurant sales. It is dependable, robust, and produces large red fruit. It is dependable for us in cooler seasons, as well as really hot seasons.

This is a wonderful little mid-sized red tomato that does very well in cooler areas along the bay. Very dependable tomato.

A French variety, we refer to these as “SRs”, mostly because we don’t speak French. This tomato produces gorgeous yellow/purple fruit that in our opinion have absolutely no flavor. Still, it is really beautiful and people like to grow them just for that reason.

This is a great yellow tomato from Mexico. It has a wonderful flavor, but only when grown in hot areas. In cooler areas it does not develop its full flavor/sweetness, so would not be a good choice along the bay.

Red beefsteak from the Civil War era. Produces beautiful red fruit, although in 2024 we thought it might have been more susceptible to disease than other varieties.

This red tomato is a very old heirloom and is considered lower in acid than most varieties. We can’t tell the difference. It tastes great.

Maniye is a wonderful variety that we discovered from the Broadmoor Garden Exchange. It is from Turkey and is slightly flattened with great flavor. It is very productive and seemed to tolerate hot weather well.

Another Wild Boar Farms variety. This tomato handles hot weather well and is multi-colored red/orange with dark black/purple shoulders.

A cool season variety from Ukraine.

Ivan is a very rare and old variety from Iowa. It is large, red, great flavor, and considered to be a good multi-use tomato for fresh eating and making sauce.

A large red variety with very robust vines that can grow 10 feet long.

Bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, this tomato is bright red with black/purple shoulders. Very nice tomato with a long shelf life.

We have trialed this tomato several times and really like it. The plant is robust, considered resistant to disease, and is a “cool season” tomato. The fruit is mid-sized, red, and like most cool season varieties, the fruit can be soft in hot weather.

An orange/yellow tomato with great flavor. The plants are somewhat compact. Is considered a “cool season” tomato, so this would do well along the bay or in areas that aren’t as hot. In high temps, it turns soft.

A bi-color red/yellow/orange beefsteak. A good tomato, but it has never stood out on our farm as being better than a Yellow Brandywine or Hazel Gold, so we no longer grow it. Home gardeners might appreciate it more.

This tomato is large, and green-when-ripe. It has a wonderful flavor. Unfortunately, we have forgotten to take pictures of it.

This is an old heirloom that we will trial on our farm in 2026. So we don’t have any experience with it, but it has been grown for decades by gardeners and we started a few extra to sell. I suspect that like most white tomatoes, it will only be white if grown in some shade. Full sun tends to turn white tomatoes a creamy yellow color.

An old heirloom variety, thought to have been developed by the Cherokees, this is probably one of the best tasting beefsteak tomatoes. We find that the fruit turns soft in really hot weather, so we don’t grow it on our farm, but it is a wonderful variety for a home gardener.

A really nice yellow, midsized tomato. It seemed to have a longer growing time (days to maturity) than other yellows (like Dad’s Sunset), but it’s an old heirloom with great flavor.

We have trialed the Goose Creek tomato on our farm for a few years now and have always liked it. It produces a larger saladette type of tomato that looks like a grocery store hybrid. The plants are relatively compact, and the flavor is great.

The Delicious tomato was a new trial on our farm in 2025, and we doubted it would be good, given that someone had given it the rather obvious name. But it was terrific. It produced large red beefsteak fruit with great flavor, and it also seemed resistant to typical tomato diseases. We liked it so much that we are growing many of them on the farm this year and started extras to sell.

A bright orange tomato that is always so perfect it does not look like an heirloom. It looks like a hybrid. It is slightly tart, which some people prefer. Fruit can easily reach 1 lb, and grow on compact plants.

One of our favorites, but the fruit tends to have splits or scaring. It is still a beautiful tomato with great flavor.

This large pink tomato grows on a robust plant and is considered a good “cool season” tomato, but we have found it does equally well during hot summers on our farm.

The Yellow Brandywine does well in hot areas and grows great fruit up to 2 lbs. It is orange when fully ripe, rather than yellow, but can be picked at the yellow stage and allowed to ripen indoors.

This is the Sudduth strain of the Brandywine, which grows huge, up to 2 lb, pink fruit of great flavor. It needs heat to be its best. We think it is a softer tomato than others.

A red tomato with black shoulders, this was bred by Brad Gates at Wild Boar Farms. It has amazing flavor and a very long shelf life. It can sit on a counter for a week without spoiling. One of our favorites.

This is probably our favorite tomato for taste. It is green on the outside, but multicolored inside and very sweet and tasty. Also called “Annanas Noir”. It has a shelf life of a few minutes, okay, just kidding, but it is very fragile and does not store well or travel well, so is never found in grocery stores.

The Big Rainbow tomato has been around for many years and produces multi-colored red/orange/yellow sweet tomatoes that can get up to 2 lbs. We do not grow it on our farm, but grew a few seedlings for the people who have asked for it.

This is a trial tomato for us. It is a large red with good reviews, and we will trial it again this year, so we have a few extra seedlings to sell.

This is the green variety of the Berkeley Tie Dye.

Similar to the Black Strawberry tomato, the Queen of the Night is beautiful in color, but we think lacks flavor and sweetness.

This is a dark red, almost black/purple elongated tomato that does well in cooler climates.

This is an orange/yellow tomato from Russia that does well in cooler climates and produces early. It has a slightly tart taste, which is unusual for yellow tomatoes. Great flavor.

This tomato is green when ripe, and has a slight rosy color on the bottom when ready to pick. It can produce huge fruit, which are creamy, sweet, and great texture. This plant is very robust and needs lots of support.

This is a “must have” tomato if you are wanting to grow tomatoes in cooler (along the bay) climates. From Poland, it produces huge (up to 3 lb) oxheart shaped fruit. They are meaty, sweet, very few seeds, and are equally good when eaten fresh or in sauce. Like most oxheart types, the plant starts out a little wispy, but they can grow up to 6 feet tall in the right conditions. In hot climates, the fruit becomes very soft.

This paste/sauce tomato is from Italy and produces huge (up to 3 lb fruit).

This is a paste/sauce tomato with great flavor that produces huge roma-type fruit.

This was a trial for us in 2025 and we thought it was wonderful. It seemed to produce later than many other varieties we grow, but had a great and sweet taste. It has a slightly fuzzy skin, hence the word “peach” in its name.

A very old heirloom named after the Wapsipinicon River in Iowa, we think this is one of the great but underrated tomato varieties. It has a slightly fuzzy skin, hence the name “peach”, but has a wonderful flavor.

This tomato is shaped like a small San Marzano, elongated, but striped in red/yellow/orange colors. Probably the highest brix level of any tomato at a Brix of 10. Very compact plants. They never look very robust. They can look somewhat wispy in the early part of the season, but always produce well. Can be grown in a pot.

One of our new favorites. Very high brix level, very sweet, green, and seems resistant to disease.

Big Jim is a large New Mexico type hot chili pepper that is typically picked when green. It is considered “mild” when green, but gets hot when red.

This tomatillo produces huge yields. Tomatillos produce better if there is more than one plant for pollination, so you should plan on having two of these, or any other variety of tomatillo will do.

This bell pepper produces large green, ripening to red fruit. A sweet, crisp variety. Plants can grow up to 5 feet tall.

We are offering these for sale, and growing them on our farm for the first time. This is a Spanish pepper, known for its sweet, smoky flavor with no heat.

Ping Tung is an asian eggplant that grows long, purple fruit. They were very slow to germinate for us this year, so we do not know if they will be large enough, and viable to plant in your gardens, for another week or three. So we will have them at the farm and if they look good, you are welcome to buy one then.

Shishito is a mild, rarely hot, frying pepper. They are very productive plants. These are late for us this year, so the seedlings are small. Peppers really need warm/sunny weather, so if you buy these you should plan to hold them for a couple of weeks before planting.
